Fresh off her strong showing at the USA Mountain Running Championships last weekend, Kasie Enman (Huntington, VT) set a new course record at the Loon Mountain Race in Lincoln, NH today, finishing 5th overall in a time of 50:58.  Enman held the old course record of 53:17 which she set in 2009.

Tim Van Orden, the Masters Mountain Running National Champion remarked about Enman: “I was able to catch up to Kasie before the Upper Walking Boss trail and then bare managed to stay with her as she took on the steep slope.  She was gaining on the male leaders ahead of with every step up the mountain.”

The Loon Race, which was founded in 2006 with a European style course design, features a 1km section in mile 4 of the race where the grade is 40%.  Most runners are reduced to a power walk ascending the black diamond rated Upper Walking Boss Trail.

Full results will be posted here at the end of the weekend.
