Two first-time competitors at yesterday’s Mount
Washington Road Race earned berths on the 2008 Teva U.S. Mountain Running
Team. Brandy Erholtz, a
30-year-old schoolteacher from Bailey, CO was crowned ‘Queen of
the Mountain’ and became the USA Mountain Running Champion.

At the 2007 World Mountain Running Trophy,
the U.S. Women repeated their Gold Medal performance of 2006 while Laura
Haefeli won the first ever women's trip to the podium with a Bronze
Medal. The U.S. Women's Junior Team, led by Anna Lieb in 4th place
and Maria Dalzot in 8th place, win the first ever Junior medal for the
U.S., bringing home the Silver.
