Tommy Manning’s Race Report from Pikes Peak Ascent

Tommy finished second this year at the Ascent, mirroring his second place finish at the Mt. Washington Road Race.  His time this year at both races were personal bests, good signs as Tommy heads to Albania in a few weeks.

Megan Lund was 4th

Brandy Erholtz was 14th

Max King was 20th

Glen Randall was the top American male, finishing in 8th place.

King, Gray, Lund-Lizotte and Erholtz race at Sierre-Zinal this Sunday

2011 US Mountain Team Members Max King, Joe Gray, Megan Lund-Lizotte, and Brandy Erholtz are all racing at the 31km Sierre Zinal race this Sunday in Switzerland.  The 2011 race is part of the Skyrunner World Series, which next moves to the Pikes Peak Ascent in Colorado.

At the 2010 race, Joe Gray finished 10th overall, while on the women’s side, Megan Lund was the overall winner and Brandy Erholtz finished 4th overall.

Erholtz 4th, Gutierrez 13th at SAAB Harakiri Berglauf race

Just 36 seconds off her winning time of 2010, Brandy Erholtz finished a strong fourth today at the SAAB Harakiri Berglauf in Mayrhofen, Austria.  Erholtz finished in a time of 1:05:02.

Simon Gutierrez, back in Europe racing after his strong showing at the 2011 Mt. Washington Road race, finished 13th in a time of 56:28.

Rickey Gates sets new course record at Canadian Death Race

Rickey Gates of Woody Creek, CO, a multi-time member of the US Mountain Running Team, set a new course record yesterday at the Canadian Death Race, finishing in a time of 12h:18:15.

Brandy Erholtz takes 3rd Place at Dolomites Sky Race

With a race that was modified due to excessive snow on portions of the original course, 2011 US Mountain Team member Brandy Erholtz (Evergreen, CO) finished 3rd place overall.  Erholtz finished in 2:11:47, 5:24 behind winner Mireia Miro of Spain who won in 2:06:23.  2nd place finisher was Oihana Kortazar, also from Spain, who finished in a time of 2:10:58.

Jared Scott & Rachael Cuellar win Vail Hill Climb

2011 US Mountain Running Team member Jared Scott took first at the Vail Hill Climb over the weekend.  He was followed by past team member Peter Maksimow in 2nd and 2011 team member Matt Byrne in third.  On the women’s side, past team member Rachael Cuellar took first, followed by former team member Megan Kimmel in second and Cynthia Arnold in third.

Kasie Enman continues her winning ways, knocking almost three minutes off her course record at the Loon Mountain Race

Fresh off her strong showing at the USA Mountain Running Championships last weekend, Kasie Enman (Huntington, VT) set a new course record at the Loon Mountain Race in Lincoln, NH today, finishing 5th overall in a time of 50:58.  Enman held the old course record of 53:17 which she set in 2009.
