USA Track & Field’s Mountain, Ultra & Trail (MUT) Running Council is currently taking nominations for the 2014 Runner of the Year (ROY) awards. A handful of athletes have received automatic nominations based on performances in recent national and world championship events. The council is now seeking manual nominations from the mountain, ultra & trail running community.
Nominated athletes must be members of USA Track & Field (USATF) & hold US Citizenship. Select athletes will be nominated automatically based on performances in select USATF National Championships and World Championship events (see below). Anyone More >
The US Mountain Running Team is headed to Casette di Masa for the 30th Annual World Mountain Running Championships, which will take place on Sunday September 14th. Italy is 6 hours ahead of the U.S. East Coast and 9 hours ahead of the U.S. West Coast.

This year’s World Mountain Running Championships will be very unique in that the race will go through a marble quarry in Casetta di Massa. The area was first settled in the second century AD.

The US Mountain Running Team has selected their Junior Team Squad to represent the US in the Junior Men and Junior Women races as part of the World Mountain Running Championships in Casetta di Massa, Italy on September 14th.
The Junior Women see two returning team members while the Junior Men will have a whole new squad.

The 2014 US Mountain Running Team will be selected at the USA Mountain Running Championships held on July 6 in Lincoln, NH. This event will be held in conjunction with the annual Loon Mountain Race and will also serve as the Collegiate Mountain Running Championships – an event sanctioned by the newly formed Collegiate Running Association.
The top 6 men and top 4 women from the race will be selected to the team and will represent the United States at the 30th Annual World Mountain Running Championships in Casette di Massa, Italy.

Team USA will compete alongside squads from Mexico and Canada at the 11th North American Central American Caribbean (NACAC) Mountain Running Championships on Sunday, July 20, at Carrera La Chupinaya in Ajijic, Jalisco, the same venue which hosted the event in 2011.
