The selection process for the US team competing at the 2015 WMRA Long Distance Championship in Zermatt, SUI was finalized last week at the USA Track & Field Annual Meeting. 5 women and 5 men will make up Team USA. All athletes selected must be US citizens and members of USA Track & Field.
Sage Canaday, Andy Wacker, and Allie McLaughlin received automatic selections to the team based on their performances at the 2014 WMRA Long Distance Challenge held last Summer in conjunction with the Pikes Peak Ascent.

Athletes with outstanding ultra road, trail, and mountain performances will be recognized at an awards breakfast in Anaheim, CA, on Thursday, December 4, during USATF’s annual meeting as USATF’s Mountain Ultra Trail Council Runners of the Year and Contributor of the Year 2014.
Among the award winners are first-time honorees, as well as repeat winners and even a husband and wife team. USA Track & Field’s Mountain Ultra Trail Executive Committee unanimously voted on November 6, to accept the bid from Visit Bend to host the 2015 USA Mountain Running Championships on July 25 in Bend, Oregon.

USA Track & Field’s Mountain, Ultra & Trail (MUT) Running Council is currently taking nominations for the 2014 Runner of the Year (ROY) awards. A handful of athletes have received automatic nominations based on performances in recent national and world championship events. The council is now seeking manual nominations from the mountain, ultra & trail running community.

The 2014 US Mountain Running Team will be selected at the USA Mountain Running Championships held on July 6 in Lincoln, NH. This event will be held in conjunction with the annual Loon Mountain Race and will also serve as the Collegiate Mountain Running Championships – an event sanctioned by the newly formed Collegiate Running Association.
The top 6 men and top 4 women from the race will be selected to the team and will represent the United States at the 30th Annual World Mountain Running Championships in Casette di Massa, Italy.

Team USA will compete alongside squads from Mexico and Canada at the 11th North American Central American Caribbean (NACAC) Mountain Running Championships on Sunday, July 20, at Carrera La Chupinaya in Ajijic, Jalisco, the same venue which hosted the event in 2011.
