Athletes representing six states comprise the 2012 U.S. Junior Mountain Running Team (www.usmrt.com). The team will accompany the senior team members as they compete at the 2012 World Mountain Running Championships in Ponte di Legno, Italy on September 2. (http://www.wmrc2012.it)

2011 USMRT Team Member Kasie Enman finishes 2nd at Dolomites Sky Race

2011 US Mountain Running Team Member Kasie Enman, who is on a 3 week quadfecta in Europe, finished second at the grueling Dolomites 22 kilometer Sky Race on July 22nd. See the full results here.
Kasie, like many of the competitors, toughed out some scrapes, cuts and blisters in the race. If you want to see her photo aftermath, check out her blog post about it (titled “Wound Reel”, it will make you appreciate all of the layers of skin on your feet.)

2012 USMRT Member Stevie Kremer wins XTERRA Beaver Creek Trail Run, sets new course record.

July 15, 2012 (Beaver Creek Resort – Avon, CO) – J. Marshall Thomson, 33, and Stevie Kremer, 28, won the XTERRA Beaver Creek Trail Run half-marathon course on a beautiful summer morning at Beaver Creek Resort in Avon, CO, today.
Both are from Crested Butte, Colo., and both are experienced – and successful – trail runners. For Thomson, it’s his second XTERRA victory in as many chances having won the XTERRA Cheyenne 24K in Colorado Springs back in April. US Women’s Mountain Team for 2012 Finalized at Loon Mountain

In possibly the most competitive field in US Women’s Mountain Running ever assembled, 3 new team members were named and one multi-time team member.
Morgan Arritola of Ketchum, Idaho, in her first mountain team qualifier, won the race in a time of 46:16, followed in second by Melody Fairchild of Denver, Colorado in a time of 47:06. In third is returning team member Brandy Erholtz of Evergreen, Colorado, who finished in 48:06. Finishing out the top 4 was Stevie Kremer of Crested Butte, CO in a time 48:21.

European Mountain Running Championships Results

Earlier today, the European Mountain Running Championships took place in Turkey. In the team competition, Italy won for the men and Great Britain won the women’s title. Monika Fürholz of Switzerland was first in the women’s race and Ahmet Arslan of Turkey won the men’s race. Arslan has now won the last six European championships!
